It’s night already,
The fireflies are out to play
They give the night a romantic look.

The crescent moon is out too;
When I was younger, I used to think it was the smile of God
So I’d look up and smile back at the moon.

Even now, the streets are quiet,
Only the crickets are awake, singing in their tiny voices;
The sounds bring a strange calmness to my soul.

Every night, before I go to bed,
I just like to sit outside on the grass, and gaze at the stars;
Then, I just feel grateful and say “God, thank you for the earth and all the beautiful people in it”

I do not only make memories in the day,
But I make sweeter memories at night.

I’ve always thought about
a world without colours;
it would-be boring I know for a fact

Have you see the sky and wondered
what if it was just black?
insane… isn’t it?

Well, I then saw and came to realize
that humans too can be like that
our actions and inactions are colours

A bad person is dark
showing love is red or pink
being fruitful is green

I thought I had seen it all
till I met her,
she gave me colours

Her eyes were a mixture of blue and violet
When she looks at me
she gives me this rainbow smile

Her touch is warmer than Horse-blood
Her intentions are golden
Her actions are perfect-green

Just a thought about her
gives me this indigo feeling
Her words are sweet like Honey-brown

Stay and make my world colourful

One day, we will talk about those times

That unshed tears burned our eyes,

Those cries that got stuck in our throats,

And those times that peals of laughter rolled

Out of our mouths.

One day, we will talk

About our childhood days,

And the bitter and sweet memories

That will linger on forever.

One day, we will talk

About how we shed off

the garments of childishness,

And braced up to the realities of life.

One day, we will talk

About the promises we made but broke,

The doors we knocked but couldn’t open,

The things we strived for but did not get,

The decisions we made but failed,

The goals we set but did not achieve,

Our dreams that went unfulfilled,

The things we want

That we were not bold to go for.

One day, we will talk

About our relationships and friends,

The shoulders that we leaned on,

And the legs that used the exit

In the times of gloom and storms.

One day, we will talk

About the goodness of God,

How he never left us,

And his steadfast love

Despite our shortcomings,

How he brought us far,

And conquered the battles for us,

Then we will tell our children

How we stood on his promises,

And worshipped him faithfully,

How we prayed earnestly,

And he rewarded us abundantly.

One day, we will talk,

Over the drinks and clinkin’ of glasses,

About how far we have come,

The mistakes we made,

And the lessons we learned,

We will talk,

About how we passed through fire

To become GOLD.
